Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) Page for CPR:
1. Do I need to have my CPR to take the CNA state exam? No. BUT, most employers do require it and most nursing schools and colleges require it to get into the program.
2. What if I had a CPR card in the past? Most CPR cards are valid for one or two years... You will need a valid and current card if you plan on working in the medical field.
3. Why would I want to get my CPR card now and not wait to see if the employer will pay for it? The economy is tight right now. It is better to have an edge over the other applicants applying for the same job. If you were doing the hiring, would you hire someone with their CNA, CPR and Med Aide or the person with just the CNA? Dual functions and more on your resume is always an added plus!
4. Does this CPR training include infant, child, and adult? Yes, it does.
5. Does this training include the AED? Yes, this is the "BLS for the Healthcare Provider" card.
6. Do I have to pay in advance? Yes, that is the only way to secure your spot.
7. If I do not show up to my scheduled class date, do I lose my money? Yes. After payment is made, you are confirmed for your class date.
8. Will I receive my card the same day? Yes. As long as you pass the written and the skills in the class. You are NOT guaranteed a certification card. You have to pass the multiple choice exam at the end of class.
9. Will you ever cancel a CPR class? Yes. If the minimum number of students is not met. You will then have the option of going into a different scheduled CPR class at a future date or receive your money back.
10. Why is your CPR course $40.00? This certification is valid for TWO years.
11. Will you come to our facility, home care, school, daycare, etc. and teach CPR to our group? Yes, you must have a minimum of eight paid particpants for the CPR instructor to come to you. Contact me for more details, rates, etc. You can obtain the American Heart Association Heart Saver CPR card with the First Aide certification card, if you are interested in group training. Or, you can do the Health Care Provider Card. All of them are valid for two years.
12. Do I need to purchase a textbook or bring one with me to class? No. All materials, worksheets, training, etc. are included with your CPR class.
13. My college requires BLS for Healthcare Providers. Is this the same? Yes. This is basic life saving (BLS) for health care providers. This is the card you will receive.
