We go through everything from how to fill out the application, what to bring, what to wear, locations the test is given, the written (theory) for the state exam (chapter tests 1 -10) and then go through live demonstrations of the 24 skills. At the end of class, you will have the opportunity to practice skills, if you wish for a limited time. This class is held in Monroe, Concord, Greensboro, Fayetteville, Winston-Salem, Durham and Raleigh on an on-going schedule. View "Class Dates" for the times, dates and locations on the website. They will be listed as "Session". All classes are filled on a first come, first serve basis with payment to guarantee your spot. It is best to register at least one - two weeks before your class date, so you have time to read your books and complete your workbook before attending class. This class is all day. If you are attending the "Full Training CNA" class, you do NOT need to register for the "Skills Only" class. The skills are covered in this class. You do not take your state exam this day... This is the full training before you go take the exam. This class is $175.00 for the Monroe or Concord location and $185.00 for the other five locations. You must pay in full at the time you register. You may want to register for a CNA "Clinical Class" after the full training class, but these are only held at the Monroe location. This is optional, but it is an open skills lab time and great practice before you take the real state exam with at least one instructor there to help. This "clinical class" is most beneficial one week after your class or right before your state exam. You can add on the skills DVD to this class, but it is optional is purchased separately.
Skills Only - This class is the "skills only" training for the CNA. This class includes the NC candidate handbook, skills checklist and the application for the state exam. You will then have the opportunity to practice skills, if you wish for a limited time. This class is four hours. This is a great class as a refresher for past CNA's, CNA's from other states, individuals who have failed the state exam in the skills section. This class is NOT an open skills practice time. This class has a minimum of four students or it will be post poned to the following month. This class is $60.00 for new students or $40.00 for past students of the Fast Track CNA.
Clinical Class - This class is an open skills lab time for the CNA. This class is where an instructor is present to watch, assist, answer questions, etc. while YOU perform the skills. This is NOT private tutoring. This class is for students to have the opportunity to go station to station and practice the skills at their own pace. This class is three hours. This is recommended for someone who already took the "Full Training CNA" class or for someone who has already taken the "Skills Only" class. This class is NOT teaching how to perform the skills. The dates that this class is offered are listed under "Class Dates". The fee for this class is $25.00 for past students of the "Fast Track CNA" or $40.00 for new students. This class is only held at the MONROE location. This class is optional, and is not mandatory for anyone... This is just for your own benefit to practice before the state exam. The best time to do this is about one to two weeks before your state exam date. If you want to register and pay for a clinical class now with your full training, you can put "Date to be determined" for your clinical class.
